Ethical Hacking Philosophy

My two cents...

Ethical hacking entails using hacking knowledge to strengthen (harden) security after obtaining permission from the target. Ethical hackers are also known as "white hat" hackers. These individuals specialize in hacking methodologies that include penetration testing, social engineering, and exploitation of other known vulnerabilities. Ethical hackers must be certain that they have obtained the proper permissions, in writing, prior to any testing whatsoever. Without explicit permission to carry on these tasks, they are considered just as guilty as any malicious hacker under penalty of law.
